Rhinoplasty, or nose reshaping surgery, is perhaps the most common plastic surgery procedure. Rhinoplasty can change the shape of the nose in a variety of ways: shrinking the bridge of the nose, decreasing the span of the nostrils, changing the turn of the end of the nose. It can also correct irregular shape due to birth defects or injury as well as aid those with breathing problems.

At your rhinoplasty consultation

The results you can achieve are based strongly on what your nose looks like now. For this reason, it is important to meet with a plastic surgeon to discuss your expectations in relation to what is actually possible. At the consultation the doctor will ask you what improvements you would like made and can tell you if this is possible. The doctor will also explain the techniques he will use, the anesthetic method, the costs, and the risks. It is also a great time to ask any remaining questions you may have about the procedure. To schedule your consultation, please contact us at 877-836-8848 or fill out this form.

How much does rhinoplasty cost?

The most recent averages put rhinoplasty at about $3000 to $8000 depending on the amount of work the given patient needs. Your doctor will be able to give you a more exact estimate once he examines you and discusses your expectations with you. Having a consultation scheduled by Chicago Plastic Surgery Network is free and easy. Simply call 877-836-8848 and talk to one of our friendly sales reps, or fill out this form.

Cosmetic procedures are usually not covered by health insurance. However, if the rhinoplasty is needed for reconstruction after a serious injury or to improve breathing, insurance may cover the surgery. For those getting rhinoplasty for purely cosmetic reasons, financing options are also available. Luckily, Chicago Plastic Surgery Network has managed to ally itself with some of the best medical financing companies, to make rhinoplasty more affordable. Recovering from Rhinoplasty

After the surgery, you will be asked to wear a gauze splint over your nose for about a week. You may experience some pain or a dull headache which can be remedied with pain killer medication prescribed by your doctor. The first day should generally be spent in bed with your head elevated. Bruising and swelling may also occur but should go away in about two weeks.

Generally, patients are active after only two days. In about two weeks time, patients should feel completely back to normal, and any noticeable bruising or swelling should have disappeared. Your physicians will schedule several follow up visits to make sure things are healing up correctly.
